A "back to school" event was held by Family Life Ministries at their church, northwest of Weslaco, on Saturday, August 22. Both the Weslaco Fire Department and the Weslaco Police Department were represented, demonstrating equipment and programs they offer. From the police department were Bernie Garza, Crime Prevention Officer, and Yvette Castro, Crime Victims Liaison. There was food, drink, prizes, and inspirational messages for all.
