      The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce is again sponsoring Onion Fest at Weslaco City Park, 300 N. Airport Drive, on Saturday, March 27. There will be food and entertainment for all. Come enjoy the fun. And eat some sweet Valley onions, also.

2/22/2010 - NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS` WEEK
     April 11 - 17 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators` Week. During this time, the public is asked to show appreciation for these police and fire dispatchers that work tirelessly to provide this invaluable service - the life-saving link between the caller and the police officer or firefighter/EMS personnel.

2/22/2010 - NATIONAL CRIME VICTIMS` RIGHTS WEEK
     April 18 - 24 is National Crime Victims` Rights Week. During this time, the public is asked to remember the people, both living and dead, who have become the victims of violent crimes. Additionally, the children who have been orphaned or scarred for life as a result of crime should be thought of. Domestic violence is a large creator of these victims.

      May 9 - 15, 2010, is designated as National Police Week in the United States. May 15 is Police Officers` Memorial Day, the day when all law enforcement personnel who gave their lives in the line of duty are recognized. Join with law enforcement and commemorate the dedication and sacrifice that these public servants possess. 
3/6/2010 - CENSUS NIGHT OUT

US CENSUS

     The Weslaco Census Count 2010 Committee will hold "Census Night Out" at Weslaco City Hall on Thursday, March 11, from 6pm to 9pm. This event is to call attention to the upcoming census count in April. Weslaco wants to make sure that all residents inside the city get counted. Come to the City Hall parking lot to enjoy free food, games for the children, and information on the census.
