| 2/25/2010 - Theft at Summit | Summit Construction, located at 2210 N. Vo-Tech Drive, was the victim of theft last weekend. Sometime between Feb. 20 and 22, thieves cut the perimeter fence, entered the property, and stole equipment from 2 pickup beds. Taken were 3 Honda generators (3500w) and a "Mi Kasa" tamper, used for compacting soil. The equipment is worth about $8,000. | | 2/17/2010 - Theft of Heavy Equipment | There were two thefts of construction equipment at two different construction sites this past weekend. One occurred at Plaza Los Encinos St. near the new bowling alley which is under construction behind Mustang Lounge. Taken was an orange Caterpiller motorgrader tractor, Model 140H. This theft happened February 14-15. The other equipment theft occurred at another construction site at Airport Drive and Business 83, at the site of CVS Pharmacy. Taken was a 1999 Caterpiller motorgrader/maintainer, Model 120H, yellow in color. Witnesses reported seeing two men loading the maintainer on to a flatbed truck on Saturday, Feb. 13, between 12 noon and 3pm. | | 2/7/2010 - WEHS Pressbox Burglarized | The baseball pressbox at Weslaco East High School was burglarized the night of Tuesday, January 26. Taken were a Dell computer, a Samson sound mixer, an equalizer, a power amplifier, a desk microphone, and a dual deck CD player. | | 1/13/2010 - Schools Burglarized | From December 30 through January 5, North Bridge Elementary and Central Middle School were victims of burglars. In both cases, storage areas were broken into and equipment and supplies were taken. At North Bridge, a weedeater and a blower were stolen, both Echo brand. At Central, in addition to their Echo weedeater and blower, a DeWalt grinder was stolen. In another area of Central that was burglarized, a "Mainliner" dolly and a "Windsor" wet vac were taken. | | 1/3/2010 - SNOW TO SUN BURGLARIES | Snow to Sun RV Park, 1701 N. International Blvd. has been hit by burglars 3 times in December. The culprits evidently come through the west fence and break into mobile homes and/or storgage sheds, taking various items. These items include power tools, as well as screwdrivers, wrenches, a George Foreman grill, 2 HDTV sets (Samsung and Toshiba). In the most recent burglary, all items taken were reovered outside the park along a ditch. | | 12/18/2009 - STORAGE UNITS BURGLARIZED (2ND TIME) | Best Little Warehouse storage units, located at 1700 E. 6th Street was hit by burglars on November 25 and again on December 12-14. The suspects used boltcutters or a similar cutting instrument to enter over 15 units each time. In most cases, information about what was stolen is not available, but in one case, the stolen items included a Dell computer monitor, 2-Serta mattress sets, and collectibles, toys, and comics. | | 12/13/2009 - Patio Thefts in Southgate Woods | Patio thieves who struck several different residences in Southgate Woods about a month ago have apparently struck again. Between November 13 and 18, several pieces of patio furniture disappeared from the backyard of a residence on Southgate Circle. Taken were two Hampton Bay steel-framed and wicker lawn chairs, green in color. They were valued at about $600. | | 12/13/2009 - Vehicle Burglary at Rita`s | A vehicle burglar made off with a bundle in a car breakin at Rita`s Dance Studio, 208 S Border, on December 9. The suspect entered an unlocked Range Rover and stole a large amount of cash in a red bank bag, a Rolex watch, a Movado watch, a Nintendo DS Lite handheld game system, and a pair of diamond earrings. | | 12/13/2009 - Trailer Theft on Valley View | At 1205 Valley View Drive, on the night of December 10, someone went on to the property and stole a utility trailer and the mower that was on it. Sometime between 8:45 and 11:40pm, thieves cut a chain securing the trailer. The trailer was a 2007 black Big Tex, double-axle, 7ft x 12ft. Its license plate was 78ZHXR. | | 11/29/2009 - Garage Burglarized on Dover Drive | | Two men burglarized a garage on Dover Drive, in North Park Place subdivision, on Monday, November 23. At about 6:45pm, the homeowner saw a man run from his open garage with his lawnmower. The mower is red with large rear wheels. The men drove off in a red Ford Ranger pickup. | | 11/22/2009 - Burglary on Ash Drive | At a residence in the 900 block of Ash Drive, burglars struck about 9 in the morning on November 6. One or more individuals entered the house through a window and took a number of expensive items. Some of the items were the following: a Dell laptop, an Acer laptop, XBox 360, a Wii system, a Toshiba 42-inch plasma TV, and jewelry. Witnesses report seeing a 1990`s model white Ford Mustang with two teenaged males near it. | | 11/22/2009 - Louise Black Theft | Two laptop computers and a charger were stolen from a cabinet in a classroom at Louise Black School, which now houses students of Armando Cuellar Middle School. The lock to the cabinet was pried off, and 2 Dell Latitude laptops, Model E6400, were stolen. The charger to one computer was also taken. | | 10/21/2009 - Dollar Tree Robbery | Shoplifting sometimes gets out of control when the thief doesn`t go quietly. At Dollar Tree, at 1901 W. Expressway 83, such a case occurred on October 15. A man inside the store figured he did not have to pay for items that the rest of us pay for. He concealed 2 bottles of White Rain and slipped out the exit. When the employee stopped the man outside, he pushed him, dropped the merchandise, and took off. In the process, a misdemeanor, like a traffic ticket, just became a felony. The culprit is described as a male in his 40`s, standing 5 feet, 6 inches, weighing about 200 pounds, wearing a blue shirt and blue shorts. | | 10/21/2009 - Customers Robbed at Stripes | On Monday, October 12, about 7am, a man and woman pumping gas at Stripes, FM 1015 and Sugar Cane, were robbed. A man approached the pair in the parking lot and grabbed the woman`s purse. She refused to let go. Her son came to her aid and struggled with the male suspect. The suspect did not get the purse, but the courageous son did suffer scratches to his face, a bite to his arm, and a possible bruised collar bone. | | 10/11/2009 - Tractor Supply Thefts | Payne Collision Center, located at 727 East Business 83, was burglarized Sunday, October 4. Sometime around 9pm, a man broke through the roof of the business, let accomplices inside, and they made off with equipment. The stolen equipment included paint spray guns, sanders, and buffers. Also, a welder with cutting torch was taken. In addition, these burglars stole a customer`s truck that was in for repair. It is a 2008 Ford F150 4 X 2 supercrew pickup, white in color. The truck had Texas plates 27VYF7. At least 4 males participated in the burglary and motor vehicle theft. If you have information on these crimes, you could earn a cash reward. About 10 days after the first major theft at Tractor Supply, another heist occurred the night of Sunday, October 11. Thieves once again entered the outside area of the store and stole more equipment. Included were a "Vector" go kart, 2-Huskee riding mowers ( a 42" and a 46"), and a sprayer on a trailer. The sprayer was recovered, flipped over, to the rear of the property.
